| This was one of J.Michael's favorite shots of hunter, in a drool. He really didn't drool much though |
| Hunter was involved in the Portage County 4H program with our children for the majority of his life. He sarted going when he was just a young pup and his last year was when he was 7 years old. He went to the Portage County fair, 8 years of his life. He LOVED going to the fair. People the fair during the fair week and Hunter LOVED all the pets and hugs he would get. The kids in the 4H club would fight over "who got to take Hunter out", but Hunter didn't care, he just wanted out to meet and greet the people. He was a huge ambassador for the breed. When Jennifer turned 18, Hunter no longer was able to go as our younger children were not interested in taking a dog in the 4H progam. Hunter was clearly sad, when it was time to go to the fair, I could tell, he knew he was supposed to be there and was clearly sad when he didnt get to go. We had people stop by after not seeing him, just so they could say hi to the gentle giant. It was shortly after this when we started to see the aging in Hunter. He was our boy and the Love of our lives. It was him who got us in the show world of dogs. I wish I would have started with him sooner as I know he would have been an AKC champion for sure. He was a gorgeous gentle giant with bone, substance, structure and movement. He lived a long life, but we know it could have been much longer if he didn't get into things that he shouldn't have. We have done so much with him and he was a true ambassador for the breed. Everyone loved him. He will always remain in our hearts. We love and miss you sweet boy, Rest in Peace. |
